Miss Yankey uses Spoken Word to promote change, and awareness on a variety of social and political issues. A passionate advocate for women's rights, Miss Yankey has worked with organisations such as Imkaan, Million Women Rise, Southall Black Sisters, FLOWS, Reclaim The Night, and the Women's Equality Party. Miss Yankey's work with Poetry Prescribed and partnership with Mind Over Matter is a testament to her commitment to use Spoken Word as a tool to promote good mental health and well being. As a Spoken Word artist and workshop facilitator Miss Yankey has worked with mental health organisations, charities, and services to include Rethink Mental Illness, Mind, Bethlem Museum of the Mind, Southwark CMHS, and The Royal Institute of Psychiatrists. In addition, Miss Yankey has created protest art which she simply refers to as 'Spoken Activism', performing for a variety of organisations including Black Lives Matter and the Stop Trump Coalition.
